Swallowed (Ababil) is a bird that avoids all places and comes to human population from far away because it likes to stay close to humans and builds its nest in such high places where no one can easily reach. It is completely averse to all things that are included in human food because its food is only flies and mosquitoes, that is, it does not eat human food at all except flies and mosquitoes, that is why it is beloved in the eyes of humans.
This bird is also called Rabib (Rabib meaning stepson) because it lives in inhabited houses. He doesn't like deserted places and lives close to people. A strange thing about Ababel is that if his eye goes out, it regenerates. Also, no one saw him sitting on something that he always eats.
Ababel's amazing intelligence
Abel's worst enemy is the bat. Therefore, the bat often lies in ambush for its children. That's why Ababel brings the wood of celery plant in her nest when she gives birth. Due to the smell of these woods, bats do not even come near the nest and its babies are protected from bats.
The abalone does not hatch in old nests until the nest is coated with new soil and it builds its nest in a strange way. First, it mixes straw in the soil and if the soil mixed with straw is not available from anywhere, it dives into the water and settles on the ground. And when the soil penetrates well into its body and arms, it comes to the nest and dusts its wings with the soil and then builds the nest from the soil with these feathers, that is, instead of straw, the wings are mixed with the soil. And the most surprising thing is that Ababel never bats in her nest but comes out of the nest and when her children grow up, she teaches them the same thing.
Swallowed (Ababel's) wisdom
Whenever Abel's children get jaundice, she comes to India and takes a stone and puts it on her children. By which her children recover from the disease of jaundice.
Therefore, when a person gets jaundice and they do not have this stone available, they take out its babies from the nest of Ababel, paint them with saffron and then put them in the nest. When Abel comes and sees her children pale, she thinks that they got jaundice because of the heat.
So she takes this stone from India and places it on children, which is later picked up by a needy person. It is a small stone which is known as "hijra snow new" (Stone Ababil) with red ink letters on it. Thus, people use this stone in the treatment of jaundice after getting it. The characteristic of this stone is that if the patient of jaundice swallows it or swallows it in water, then he gets rid of jaundice.
One of the habits of Ababel is that it is very afraid of the sound of lightning (thunder) until sometimes it is almost killed by the thunder. When Ababel becomes blind, she goes to a tree (called 'Ain Al-Shams') and eats its leaf. His sight is restored by eating it.
